Simply Bloom Photography ~ Huntsville, AL

Simply Bloom's images have always had a way of captivating us. Described as modern vintage, their pictures have a softness and depth that gives them a quiet, still beauty. Their unique style is instantly recognizeable and their images have that certain quality - that certain something... our Creative Director, Brooke Thomas often calls it "photography with soul." Photographers and friends, Christine and Vania attribute most of their success due to their passion for what they do and they describe their photography as, "imagery that portrays modern day love with a timeless beauty." Their work has appeared on Completely Unveiled a number of times and most recently in our Spring 2010 issue of Weddings Unveiled in Stacey and Chris' real wedding feature. Read on to learn more about Christine and Vania, the talented ladies behind the lenses of Simply Bloom.

Weddings Unveiled: Tell us a bit about Simply Bloom Photography.

Christine & Vania: Simply Bloom is our beloved company. We specialize in high-end boutique photography. Through our captures, we immortalize and create the most dramatic and romantic moments. We could not love our job more, in fact we are quite addicted to it!

WU: How did you both become wedding photographers?

C&V: We both have art degrees and took several film and digital photography courses in college. We found our passion while planning our own weddings and fell in love with anything wedding related-we still like to think we live vicariously through our brides!

WU: Digital or film or both? Why?

C&V: 100% Digital with a subtle film "look." We sort of fell into digital, however we chose to continue with this medium because if its immediacy.

WU: Describe your wedding photography style.

C&V: Dramatic, romantic, ethereal, and emotional. Our style is vintage with a modern twist. We do not follow any trends; rather our style very much reflects who we are as individuals.

WU: Show us your favorite wedding image and tell us why it represents who you are as a wedding photographer.

C&V: It is very tough to choose only one image, however we feel this image represents our style very well in its softness, emotion, composition, lighting, editing and simplistic beauty.

WU: What inspires you?

C&V: Each other! We feed off each other and constantly motivate and push one another. Our work is what it is today because it is the perfect balance of our personal styles brought together as one.

WU: What inspires your wedding photography?

C&V: We are constantly inspired by vintage objects, sun rays, and soft colors.

WU: How do you keep your wedding photography fresh?

C&V: We simply do what comes natural to us. We capture and create work in the way that we see the world. Our photography will always have a vintage flair to it, because we will always stay true to our taste. We will never try to fit the mold, but rather push the envelope and strive for complete uniqueness 100% of the time.

WU: Do you do non-wedding photography work? If so, how does it influence your wedding photography?

C&V: Nope! We are full time wedding photographers, constantly immersed in all things wedding, and love every single minute of it!

WU: What makes you different from other wedding photographers?

C&V: We believe each photographer has a different eye. Our photography is distinguished because of its romantic feel, soft tones, and the way we are able to capture light through our lenses.

WU: What would be your ideal wedding assignment?

C&V: What a dreamy question! Perhaps photograph a wedding a wedding in Ireland, France or Greece with plenty of time for bride and groom portraits!

WU: Tell us three things you can't live without.

C&V: Our family, our puppies, our favorite lens! A 4th would be coffee!

WU: What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?

C&V: "You can do anything you put your mind to."

WU: What is the best advice you can give to an engaged couple?

C&V: As far as photography goes, look for a photographer that is consistent with his/her work! Also, enjoy this once in a lifetime experience and GO ALL OUT!
