The brilliance of Vera Wang is that her gowns look amazing from any perspective. The Spring 2010 collection is a study in texture, where I find that different layers and details appear from every angle. The effect is organic, yet light, airy, cloud-like and well... dreamy.
The alluring ballgowns all are soft and continuously moving, drawn at the waist with wide ribbons and sometimes elaborately structured bows. They have a distinct silhouette, yet the layers of fabric give them an unconstrained, elemental appearance. Each design is concious of a woman's form and the body-skimming dresses have an easy fluidity and understated sexiness. The collection is lovely and romantic, without being overly girly, appealing to modern, intelligent women with an appreciation for beautifully made clothes.
