Real Wedding ~ Bliss and Chase

Bliss and Chase were married on a... well... blissful day in Washington, DC filled with celebration, laughter and love. Our good friend Adam Barnes created a series of amazing images of Bliss and Chase against a backdrop of Washington's spectacular architecture as they moved from their exchange of vows at the Washington, DC Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to their ring ceremony and reception at The Willard Intercontinental. Family and friends took advantage of the beautiful day and gathered in the Temple's lush gardens for portraits with the bride and groom. Bliss wore a taffeta gown with a lace bodice, cap sleeves and floral detailing in the back, while her bridesmaids wore olive cocktail dresses with floral detailing at the waist. Bliss wore her hair in a chic French twist and carried a compact bouquet of blush roses, white hydrangea and milk-white calla lilies. Her bridesmaids carried cloud-like bouquets of baby's breath and Chase and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos. As everyone made their way to the reception, Bliss and Chase stopped for pictures at the Jefferson Memorial, designed by Bliss' grandfather, who was the architect for the monument.

Bliss and Chase exchanged rings in the opulent Crystal Room of the The Willard Hotel, featuring fluted pilasters, striking green scagliola columns and dazzling crystal chandeliers. An altar was created of gently draped sheer organza with lush sprays of white lilies, hydrangea and roses at it's corners. The reception was designed in a sophisticated palette of white, ivory and gold to blend seamlessly with the ballroom's existing architecture and decor. Guest tables were covered in ivory damask linens and featured place settings of gold patterned china topped by menu cards and boxed favors. Centerpieces were made using fragrant masses of roses, hydrangea, and lilies in varied white and ivory hues or gatherings of tall glass cylinders with floating candles.
