Real Wedding ~ Katherine and Rob

We love a great barnyard wedding and Fearrington House is the perfect venue for that rustic-chic feel. Photographer Abigail Seymour captured every moment (and all the wonderful surprises!) of Katherine and Rob's nostalgic NC nuptials. Katherine wore a romantic lace gown by Pronovias and carried a bouquet of white blossoms with her grandmother's necklace draped into the satin stem wrapping, while Rob wore custom cufflinks Katherine had given him as a wedding gift. Fearrington's barn was decorated with family portraits along its wooden walls, with a chandelier of woven branches and strands of twinkling white lights overhead.

When Katherine's father gave his toast to the happy couple, he began by showing footage of the 1992 NCAA Basketball Tournament when Duke played Kentucky. Unusual, yes, but he had a purpose. Katherine had been to that game and apparently had a huge crush on Duke's star basketball player, Christain Laettner. During that game, Laettner scored one of basketball's most amazing game-winning points in history. Upon finishing the story, Katherine's dad pulled away a large piece of canvas revealing the actual floor from the basketball court including the key in which that famous point was scored. Katherine and her father shared a dance on the basketball floor and then Katherine shared her first dance with her current crush, her new husband Rob.
