It was a beautiful spring day for Alexis and Jay's vineyard wedding at Veritas photographed by Joey + Jessica Weddings. The event was designed in a palette of pinks, greens and white against a backdrop of blooming dogwood trees and spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Alexis wore a pretty strapless dress by Melissa Sweet with pin dot detailing and a ruffle-edged sweetheart neckline. She carried a lush bouquet of pink and white peonies and sweet peas, while her bridesmaids wore cocktail dresses in brilliant raspberry and carried bouquets of mixed white blooms. The groomsmen wore tailored black three-piece suits and Jay wore the same but with a white vest and tie. The ceremony was held outdoors with pastoral views of the vineyard and mountains. Large wooden wine barrels were set at either side of the aisle, topped by large spray arrangements of pink and white blossoming branches.Everyone moved indoors for the reception, where sheer white fabric was draped across the ceiling and framing the massive windows and views of the mountains. Round guest tables were covered in soft white linens and set with bone china and chocolate stained chivari chairs. Pat's Floral Designs created centerpiece groupings of blossom stems in glass vessels, including peonies, tulips and sweet peas. Large uncovered wooden tables were set Viking-style table for the bridal party with the bride's and bridesmaids bouquets in containers along the center of the table and Alexis and Jay's seats were labeled with hand-painted wooden signs reading "Mr." and "Mrs." Lighting elements were created to change throughout the evening to reflect the mood of the event. A soft glow lit the room during dinner and when The Dickens band began to play, the room was washed in fuchsia and purple.
