Real Wedding ~ Amy and Chris

Tuscany meets Versailles was the inspiration for Amy and Chris travel themed wedding in Virginia photographed by Laura Ashbrook Photography and designed by Events in the City. Amy and Chris spent much of their courtship traveling together and being apart, while Amy traveled to Africa for AIDS research, so it was important for them to incorporate this into their wedding day. The event was designed in a rich Fall palette at Breaux Vineyards. Amy looked striking in her gown that she accessorized with a feather fascinator, dazzling pair of earrings and dramatic red lip, while her bridesmaids wore dresses in rich vineyard inspired colors of Bordeaux, wine and deep purple. The little flower girls dressed in wine tutus with Fall leaves in the hem of their skirts paired with cardigans and carried baskets adorned with cherry brandy roses, hydrangea blossoms and peacock feathers. Chris wore a classic black tuxedo with white button down, vest and bowtie to match his bride, while his groomsmen wore black suits and ties. The ceremony overlooked the vines from the vineyard and was situated in the lush green grass of the winery. Gold chivari chairs were set with cushions in Venetian red and shepherds hooks hanging aged golden lanterns with small blossoms in the rich Fall palette, peacock feathers and trailing pumpkin orange ribbon decorated the aisleway.

Following the beautiful vineyard wedding guest made their way into an exquisitely draped tent illuminated with a warm amber glow and adorned with a row of chandeliers. Guests were greeted by flight attendants that handed them boarding pass place cards which dictated the country the guest would travel to for the evening. A mixture of round and rectangular guest tables were situated around the room and dressed with shimmering crushed linens in a copper hue. The centerpieces created by Holly Chapple Flowers were the main focus of the design with three different arrangements consisting of rich jewel tone flowers, crystals, lanterns, birdcages, candleabras, lamps and peacock feathers that really made the room come alive. In lieu of a guest book, a vintage suitcase with postcards sat on a table along with stamps for guests to decorate and write well wishes to the bride and groom for both their marriage and their upcoming travels around the world. Towards the end of the evening guests were surprised with individual cakes from Edibles Incredible instead of the traditional wedding cake and an amazing candy display. Don't miss any of the stunning details of the couple's travel inspired wedding, including the colorful dinnerware and magnificent centerpieces.
