Real Wedding ~ Lindsay and David

We love everything about Lindsay and David's Charleston, SC wedding photographed by Joey and Jessica Seawell. The event was designed in a soft muted palette of pastels, mixing luxe vintage style with a modern indie vibe. Lindsay wore a pretty strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and soft bubble hem and carried a bouquet of delicate white orchids wrapped in her great grandmother's handkerchief. With her hair in a loosely gathered side chignon, Lindsay wore metallic slingback sandals and added a statement necklace of entertwined pearls and gold chains. Her bridesmaids wore beautiful floor length gowns from designer Rachel Pally in alternating one shouldered or strapless styles in ivory or black. They carried bouquets of antique hydrangea formed as a collar surrounding a center of open cream roses. David dressed in a tailored black suit, while his groomsmen wore prep-school-chic powder blue v-neck sweaters with black pants, white button downs and black ties.

Following the ceremony at St. Luke's Chapel in downtown Charleston, guests made their way to The Wickliffe House for the reception. The charming historic house features a wide porch with towering white columns, exquisite interiors and manicured gardens. The reception was designed with both indoor and outdoor events to work with the property's layout and existing decor. Cocktails were served in the garden, where highboy tables were draped in soft cappucino linens gathered with wide ivory sashes and set with small arrangements in aged mercury glass vessels of roses, hydrangea, peonies, dusty miller and sweat peas in soft pastels. White paper lanterns hung from the trees on white satin ribbon, while thick ropes of hydrangea were tied to the wrought-iron gates, railings and entryway benches. Two arrangements of vintage furniture were set on either side of the entrance to the outdoor cocktail lounge featuring tufted white settees, bamboo coffee tables and upholstered arm chairs.

Guests were seated for dinner inside the rooms of the house, where rows of long tables were arranged on the property's original hardwood floors and dressed in soft ivory linens. Mahogany chivari chairs were padded with silk cushions in deep cocoa, while centerpiece and accent floral arrangements were displayed in an array of antique silver and mercury glass vessels. Sweet menu cards were placed at each seat and the bride and groom's chairs were hung with wooden craft letters. Don't miss the wooden footed cake pedestal and the sweet candy bar complete with a craft banner made of patterned paper in varied colors. Guests enjoyed a variety of Southern cocktails and dancing on the lawn until the evening ended with Lindsay and David's spectacular sparkler exit.
