Nell and JJ met while working together at the Children's Museum of Denver. Nell was in charge of planning the annual family Halloween event, Trick or Treat Street and JJ was hired to help the exhibits team with event set-up. "So on his first day," Nell remembers, "he had to build a maze out of close to 700 straw bales for me." Despite that, they became and remained great friends until months later when Nell finally, nervously professed her feelings. As it turned out, JJ felt the same way and they began a relationship which eventually led them down the aisle.Nell and JJ are self-described "art kids" and we love the quirky, colorful, contrasting decor in their Charleston, SC wedding illustrated beautifully in images by photographer Kelli Nixon. Dramatic damask is mixed with the clean lines of modern vases, while fresh greens are combined with the intensity of bright reds and warm oranges. The resulting look is both sophisticated and fun, vintage and modern. We especially love Nell's glamorous vintage gown, perfectly paired with JJ's green and black Converse All Stars.Credits:Photography and Videography: Kelli Nixon Photography.
