We have to take a moment today to tell you about this amazing cause, Summit for Someone. Big City Mountaineers, is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that delivers life-changing outdoor experiences to more than 750 at-risk teens a year. Their unique curriculum improves self-esteem, motivation and decision-making skills through wilderness experience. Now in it's sixth year, Summit for Someone allows volunteers to choose one of 16 of the most sought-after peaks in North America to climb. Each volunteer must raise the funds pledged for their trek, which then goes to Big City Mountaineers to help send at-risk teens from across the country on a life-changing wilderness trip in the Summer of 2010.
One of our friends, Andrea Hildebrand, has pledged to climb Mt. Whitney in California, the highest summit in the contiguous United States with an elevation of 14,505 feet. Andrea needs our help to make her trek possible. Please visit her Summit for Someone page and make a donation. Help Andrea Summit for Someone!
