Two Paperdolls is an amazing custom stationery studio out of Wayne, Pennsylvania. Sticking to the elegant and ancient form of letterpress, their wedding invitation and save-the-date lines are one-of-a-kind. And that makes them one of our favorite new finds! We wanted to share their story and their designs with our readers. Two Paperdolls was founded in fall of 2000, by Vanessa Kreckel and her childhood best friend, Suzanne Cogan Gallagher. Not satisfied with invitations and stationeries they came across while planning their own weddings, the two designed and produced their own handmade invitations… Soon, family members and friends were asking for the duo’s creative invites and before long, the pair was working nights and weekends to keep up with the demands of their growing invitation business. In spring of 2003, Vanessa left her job as a graphic designer at the University of Pennsylvania and struck out on her own to open a small design studio in Wayne, Pa. The result was Two Paperdolls. Since then, their business has grown exponentially and now even includes Louella Press, a retail offering of engraved wedding albums and invitations as well as letterpress note cards. Their process is simple, but necessary to get exactly the kind of custom design that speaks for you as a couple. Brides can make an appointment to meet the Dolls team in person or over the phone. Plan to spend about 45 minutes with them during this initial appointment. You are welcome to bring any & all fabric swatches, photographs, or clippings that inspire you. During this complimentary session, an expert consultant will listen to your ideas on color, design & wording, and later pass them on to our talented group of designers who will then create the perfect stationery for your special day. They can carry your theme through additional items such as thank you’s, place cards, menus, favor tags & any other day of needs to enhance the look & feel of your event.
